Marbella Spas – Swim

A Swim Spa is a counter current swimming pool that has the same concept and ideas as a Hydrotherapy Massage Spa and Jacuzzi Hot Tub.

A Swim Spa is the ideal pool for the practise of regular water exercise, swimming or even aqua-jogging, with the comfort and relaxation of the pleasant soothing warm water.

Considering that all the operating equipment, Heaters and pumps are compact it is even a possibility of being portable, a Swim Spa can easily be placed in a garden, terrace or even in the interior of a house. A roof or pent house terrace is also a possibility subject to the weight and loading requirements.

A swim spa has very many advantages some of which are :-

Fitness

With an adjustable water flow of between 730 and 2.200 litres per minute, the swim spa can be adjusted to each and every style of swimming and to varying degree of exercise levels.

With a varying number of high flow hydro therapy massage jets, sufficient pumps and air regulators a swim spa can create the ideal water flow for the intensity of exercise desired.

The water temperature is fully adjustable and can be set up to 40&ordmC and can be adjusted either for a swimming activity or orientated to relax or for exercise such as aqua jogging.

A swim spa should have an anti-slip floor combined with sufficient depth of say 130cm to 140cm so that it can also be used for aquajogging.

Relaxation

The water temperature of the swim spa can be kept always at the desired temperature so it can be used anytime and indeed at any time of the year.

Swim Spa are usually Equiped with LED lights, so as to create fantastic lighting conditions and environments to be used at night.

Water treatment

Contrary to the conventional swimming pools the swim spa needs low maintenance to keep the water clean and in its perfect condition.

A well made swimspa will be equipped with an efficient filtration system, with three cartridge filters and a sufficient circulation pump.

Also as with modern Jacuzzis a swim spa should be equipped with a ozone generator (O3) to help purify the water.

Efficiency

With proper isolation and a isothermical cover the swim spa is very efficient in the energy consumption to keep the water at the desired temperature.

To maintain the water temperature of a swim spa it will require more or less 1 € per day.

Portability

A swim spa can be equiped with panels and a structure (stainless steel or galvanized iron) and as all the equipment is assembled in its interior, the swim spa can be a portable swimming pool.

How is tap water tested for contamination?  Why is testing for contamination important to you?  Most of us know that industrial waste, agricultural run-off, animals and human beings contribute to the hazardous contaminants that are in our water supplies.

Most of us realize that some of these contaminants flow out of our faucets every day.  Some of them cause waterborne illnesses that can sometimes be fatal.  Some contribute to long-term health problems.  Many of them increase an individual’s risk of cancer.

In the 1900s, before we began to use so many synthetic chemicals in our society, 1 out every 50 people developed cancer in their lifetime.  Today, 1 out of 3 people develop cancer.  If you’re a man, your odds are 1:2, a 50/50 chance.  You should be wondering how you can reduce your risk and improve your odds.

How To Protect Yourself  From Harmful Water Contaminants?

How is tap water tested for contamination is an important question.   If we know what contaminants are present in our water supply and we learn how to remove them, we can take steps to protect our long-term health.

That’s why researchers have continuously studied the subject.  They want to help people protect themselves, but if you rely to heavily on your local treatment facility or stick to drinking only bottled water, then you are not thoroughly protecting yourself.  That’s why I’m giving you the answers to a few other questions.

How is tap water tested for contamination with trihalomethanes?

Home tests cannot detect them.  Researchers have developed sensitive equipment that takes air samples, because trihalomethanes or THMs become airborne.

What Are THMs?

THMs are a group of chemical compounds that are created when treatment facilities disinfect the water supply.  Whether they use chemicals, UV light, ozone or a combination or these methods, the compounds are released.

You will see them listed on a water quality report as TTHMs or total trihalomethanes.  The EPA established a “safe” limit by assuming that we were only exposed to them by consuming unfiltered tap-water.  Researchers have shown that we are exposed to them in the shower, when washing dishes and when cooking with unfiltered water.  We inhale them.  They are absorbed through the skin and the latest research indicates that all of these areas of exposure double a person’s lifetime risk of developing cancer.

How is tap tap water tested for contamination with cysts?

According to the EPA, testing for cysts on a regular basis is difficult and impractical.  They are parasites in an early stage of development that cannot be controlled by public disinfection methods.  You must assume that they are in your supply and make efforts to protect yourself.

In most people, they cause stomach problems.  In children, the elderly and those with chronic health problems, the illness they cause can be fatal.  With the right home purifier, you can remove cysts and THMs.  You just have to check product performance data.

How is tap water tested for contamination of other types?

Each contaminant has its own test and testing is expensive.  Assume that the common ones are present and buy an effective home water filter.  See CleanWaterPure.com for reliable sources of good quality water filtration system for your home.  For more information see my website. – Larry L. The world has been facing a number of environmental issues, such as pollution, deforestation or global warming. Even though it is fairly difficult to cope with these problems, there are some things we can perform to protect the environment.

Environmental pollution is caused due to excessive utilization of natural resources, presence of a large number of people and livestock in congested areas, use of agro-chemicals, setting up of factories, running of automobiles, burning of fuel, etc.

A change in the environment is due to pollution and also affects the ecological balance. Environmental pollution is caused both in rural and urban areas. Pollution can cause sickness and discomfort. It also affects the productivity of natural resources, such as land, water, forests and livestock.

Global warming refers to the augment in regular temperature near the earth’s surface and in its oceans

. Climate change is another term used interchangeably with global warming. On the other hand, climate revolutionize may include other changes in typical weather besides increase in temperature.

 Air Pollution:

The tall buildings soak up heat during the day and release it during the night. Thus, the weather remains hot and unpleasant. Automobiles and industries emit smoke containing carbon dust, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other poisonous gases, which are unhealthy. Chemical factories release harmful gases, which can travel long distances. Gases like sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide come in contact with cloud or rain water and turn into acid and result in acid rain. Release of harmful gases like fluorine and nitrous oxide by factories into the atmosphere would destroy the ozone layer and allow the harmful rays of the sun to reach the earth. Gases like carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide, when released from automobiles and industries, absorb heat from sunlight and raise the temperature of our surroundings. Due to deforestation and increasing industrial growth, the average temperature of the atmosphere may rise by 20 C – 50 C during the next fifty years. This is known as global warming.

Protecting the environment is something everyone needs to consider. We can prevent environmental pollution if we understand its causes and take following measures:

Recycle Conserving the energy Pressure government Write letters Educating the people Waste natural resources

First of all, we can save the environment by recycling things such as cans, glass bottles or newspapers as much as possible.

For example, if we recycle newspapers or magazines to reproduce recycle paper, we can save the consumption of paper, and consequently it will help stop deforestation in tropical forests. We should also try to buy things that are made from recycled materials.

Secondly, conserving energy will also help protect our environment. Nowadays, we overly consume precious energy or natural resources. Moreover, burning fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and gas, produces a large amount of carbon dioxide, which leads to the global warming.

Planting trees to offset the effects of the carbon dioxide emissions created in the production of the energy and other products one consumes is another alternative. It isn’t necessary to do this oneself. Around the world there are organizations that are gearing up to do this on behalf of the many millions of concerned consumers. So for instance a power company could estimate the greenhouse gases emitted to produce a kilowatt-hour of electricity and then allow its customers an opportunity to pay to offset these emissions and become “carbon neutral”.  Other ways of conserving energy would include cutting back on waste thereby saving on the energy that would be spent on replacement of the wasted item – Recycle and reuse whenever possible. In order to reduce energy consumption, each of us is required to make many efforts like turning off lights, adjusting thermostat or walking instead of driving as often as possible. If only we could educate people so that they realize their small contribution will collectively create great benefits for the environment. Saving on water consumption – A huge amount of energy is spent on purifying water for consumption so cutting back on water waste will help considerably. Ensuring you have efficient insulation and that cooling and heating appliances are cleaned and primed to work efficiently.

Having discussed above, it is felt that,  in order to improve the environment, it is very essential for the government to educate people. In fact, we tend to be ignorant of the environment problems these days. Unless we know how serious the problems are and what we have to do to protect the environment, the improvement will never been achieved.

Of course, protecting the environment is also a responsibility of government and business houses. In order to influence government, we could write letters to newspapers or politicians expressing our desires for the government to do more to protect the environment. We could also write directly to business houses with suggestions on how they could reduce pollution or waste. We might also write letters thanking those who are making efforts to protect the environment.

ROLE OF CHILDREN IN PROTECTING ENVIRONMENT:

Children in rural and urban areas can play an important role in preventing environment pollution very effectively. There is great satisfaction in doing it ourselves.

Children in villages can persuade their parents to :

  Use smokeless stoves or install biogas plants;   Provide smoke outlets and ventilation in the kitchen;  Tie livestock outside the house and reduce their number     Feed livestock in their sheds without letting them out for grazing;   Plant trees around the house, on field bunds and along roadsides;   Develop field bunds across the slope to retain more water and prevent     the soil being washed away. Plough the field across the slope;  Keep tanks, canals and other water sources clean;  Use the sewage water for growing trees;  Keep the surroundings of the house and well clean;  Prepare compost by using garbage, dung and other wastes;

 Select a suitable site for the toilet, away from water sources and houses. It can also be connected to the biogas plant;

 Use agro-chemicals carefully and try to avoid them. Plant products may be preferred wherever effective to protect crops;

Protect wildlife like frogs, snakes, mongoose, birds, etc. which

Urban children can do a lot to reduce environment pollution.    Plant tress in school and home premises. Even if you are staying in a flat,    plants and creepers can be raises in pots and wooden boxes, in the balcony;    Protect the trees planted along roadsides;     Keep public areas clean and avoid littering;     Plant trees along roadsides, near bus stops, around playgrounds, and in parks to provide shade;     Avoid dumping garbage on the street. Dispose them in a garbage dump; you can also make a compost pit to convert garbage into manure;    Waste paper, plastic, glass and metal pieces can be recycled this would reduce the pollution and conserve our resources;     Avoid using plastic materials such as plates and carry bags which cannot be used again. Moreover, when plastic is thrown away, it does not degrade but remains in the soil, polluting the surroundings;  Do not make noise in public places; every likes quiet surroundings;     Request your family members to use automobiles only when necessary; walking or cycling can be a pleasure when the distance is short;     If someone is causing pollution in your area, inform the authorities through your teachers or parents.

Finally, there are many ways for us to protect the environment, not only on a global level but on a personal level. Saving the environment for future generations is something we must all be trying to do. We belong to earth; the earth does not belong to us. Let us act now and persuade others to join us. This will ensure safety for our future generations.

Noel Rozny writes myPathfinder, the

People with rheumatoid arthritis have to be thoroughly sick of hearing doctors let know them they have an autoimmune disease, the body is fighting and destroying their own together with an inflammatory condition. They often fail to tell them they have to do your body strong, to give some parts of the chance to fight back, to slow or even stop the deterioration. After the fight back really begins.

The immune system is to do with your ability to fight infection, your inner strength if you will. And that may be affected in various ways, with poor diet which allows the inflammation to flourish, lack of exercise that results in the warm blood to the joints and slow, and lack of pure, cooling fluids – water – which will embody the a possibility of eliminating inflammation. Not to mention several drugs that aggravates the kidneys and liver.

Imagine your body trying to fight inflammation. What does he need? To start it would take blood from your liver healthy, containing healthy, oxygen from the lungs. Would have to eliminate the toxic inflammation around the joints so it would be necessary for healthy kidneys turgid clear fluids and a healthy gut for elimination of toxic waste.

If any of these vital organs are inefficient, then your body is poor undermined from the start. He has no chance to fight the disease.

If your liver is blocked with fat poor diet, this will heat the blood, which will worsen their condition. Liver congestion is overweight, headaches, indigestion, eye problems, fatigue, constipation and a general slowdown. If you are developing an inflammatory disease on top of this, then you’re bound to get worse.

The frustrating thing is that it is so easy to create a healthy liver. Responds to a healthy diet, the Mediterranean diet is perfect – 15 percent protein, 45 percent carbohydrates (bulky) and 40 percent of fruits and vegetables. You need lots of fresh fruit and some raw vegetables like carrots and salads. It’s really easy and the response of your body is wonderful, within days.

If you must smoke your lungs, of course, be deleted. The lungs are badly needed to combat the disease. The oxygen that they put into the bloodstream through these delicate membranes is essential for health, healing and to fight inflammation. They can also be damaged by negligence. They need to be stretched, with deep breaths in the fresh air. Working for a system of exercise. We all need lots and lots of fresh air, ozone and oxygen. Without it you can forget about curing anything.

Your body needs energy to fight the disease. Need health building foods without much saturated fat, with plenty of fruits and vegetables. We also need vitamin and mineral supplements to give you the ammunition to fight inflammation.

The things you need are anti-inflammatory products, fish oil with omega-3, mega vitamin C, selenium, beta carotene, and aloe vera, cherry, ginger and joint lubricants – and anti – stress products such as ginseng, vitamin B, and calcium. There are so many that you can drive you crazy wondering what to take! But get advice and keep taking them daily.

One of the most important things to help arthritis is a good elimination. The body is so choked with toxic inflammatory that needs to clean itself. Many of the toxic joints remain there because the body can not transfer them.

One of the worst setbacks can have is constipation. The poisons that you are trying to eliminate going round and round your poor sick body. Definitely not recommended! They attach themselves wherever they could get a hold, especially for joints. He does not bear thinking about.

Constipation is caused by poor diet, not enough roughage or vegetable and fish oil in the system. Is why the Mediterranean diet is so good? You get a lot of roughage, pasta, bread (preferably rye) and abundance of fish and olive oil in salads and cooking. And you get any protein is usually cool with feta cheese, fish and chicken.

You must find the right diet before you can do anything with the joints.

And with all this toxic inflammation and heat that you need to cool the joints and lubricate the system with water. Clear, fresh clean water – not treated with additives or flavorings. Drinks five liters a day – eight glasses. Keep a glass or bottle of water with you at all times and keep drinking. Drink to good health! You can count on fresh fruit juice and vegetable consumption among the eight glasses.

These drinks will help make healthy kidneys. Then, they can purify the blood and this will help the heart, which in turn will help your joints.

The kidneys are one of the most important organs of the body to clear the inflammation of the joints. However, the poor old things are starved of fluid and fight to clean the blood. If the kidney energy is low, get constipation, low energy, headaches, swollen ankles and joints, excessive period pains, ear problems, fatigue and difficulty in the chest.

At the same time help the joints and inflammation with natural products and then have a new look for your problem when you have done yourself healthy. There is much that can be done with a healthy body, including massage of muscles and joints, mobilization, acupuncture and breathing exercises.

Colon Cancer Polyps Symptoms

It is a terrible thing to deal with. Colon Cancer Polyps Symptoms However, if I ever needed to deal with cancer or even precancerous skin conditions again I would choose a holistic path. My journey would be something like below for any serious illness.

If I had the financial means I would go out of this country for alternative treatment at one of the many institutions that practice whole body healing. If I was stuck here and could not get alternative care then I would have no choice but to undertake the task myself, or with the help of loved ones, which takes a lot of faith and effort. Attitude is going to play a key role in my ability to heal myself. Faith and spirituality have to be part of any healing protocol. All the work I will do on detoxing and nutrition will be wasted if I am not de-stressed and moving forward with positive thoughts.

Before any kind of healing can occur within my body I need to make sure that all my elimination channels are open and working properly. That includes the five main elimination channels: liver, lungs, colon, kidney, and skin. I would be unable to remove toxins or purify my blood and lymphatic system if I did not have an open channel of elimination.

The fastest way I know to open the colon as well as purge the liver and gall bladder is a high organic coffee enema. Most people want to drink their coffee but unfortunately the best use is as an enema. This also helps to stimulate the bile ducts. In addition I would use a great colon stimulating herbal formula. One that also addresses the liver and gall bladder would be helpful. It is important that I keep my colon open. A product called Clean and Repair is a good cleanser as it addresses the colon, liver, gall bladder, and blood stream but there are a few on the market.

Lung Cancer Secrets Revealed Click here

In order to open and stimulate the kidney, liver, and lungs I will be drinking red clover tea and adding the following tinctures: milkthistle and dandelion root to repair and rebuild my liver, lobelia and fenugreek to dry excess mucous from my lungs and open my bronchial tubes, and goldenrod and horsetail to disinfect my kidney and bladder. These are all tinctures I should be able to find in a quality health food store.

To open the skin I would use a combination of techniques. Hydrotherapy is a great choice that I could do 2 or 3 times a day. 10 seconds of hot shower followed by 10 seconds of cold. Finish with cold. It is definitely a shocker to the system but a powerful way to stimulate the nervous system and skin. I will follow with a solution of Bragg’s Apple cider vinegar about 3 to 4 ounces in a gallon of distilled water. I will brush it lightly over my skin with a sponge as a stimulant. It will open the pores of the skin to breathe.

Dry brushing each morning starting at the outermost extremities and working toward my heart to stimulate both my lymphatic and circulatory systems will prove very beneficial. A (radiant) sauna to raise my core temperature and open my skin pores will also be helpful. With cancer, as you may know, the body does not raise it’s temperature like a typical infection. Anything we can do to enhance that process will improve our immune system. A hot bath taking in stimulating tea with cayenne pepper will really raise my temperature. An Epsom salt bath is also a powerful aid at opening the pores. We take in a lot of oxygen thru our skin when it is functioning properly.

I will make sure my blood and lymphatic system are clean. A red clover tea 3 times a day with. Stillingia Root will do the trick. There is also a product made in Canada called Serrapeptase Rx that will clean all dead tissue out of the body and reduce any inflammation I am experiencing. I will use the 120,000 iu strength. It is the strongest version in the world currently available. There is also a blend of Fulvic and Humic acids that studies have shown tremendous results at pulling toxins out of the body. There are several products but the best one is Humifulvate Rx. In addition it will carry minerals and oxygen to every cell. Increasing oxygen is a critical factor for healing. It is one of the reasons I will do my best to exercise outside. The air inside is polluted, I need the sunshine, and I need to pull as much oxygen into my system as well as move fluids in my body. I will also use an Ozone machine which will force oxygen into my system. This is not permitted in most states unless it is the privacy of my own home.

Now that my body is clean I have to nourish all the cells and rebuild my immune system. With cancer, especially if there is chemo or radiation involved, there is a severely depressed immune system. So that all my energy is used for healing I will only be taking in organic vegetable juice that I blend with super foods to make sure I get all the 46 essential nutrients into my system daily. I will take in plenty of pure oxygenated water.

My organic juice will include the following: carrots, beets, spinach, celery, cabbage, broccoli, 2 raw garlic gloves, as much cayenne pepper as I can tolerate along with a tablespoon of Greens Rx (a product made up in Canada). I will also add in liquid Super Phytoplankton Rx. I will use a pill crusher to take the Sona Rx vitamin or equivalent with my drink at least 3 times a day. It will be best to sip the juice all day but as soon as possible after juicing. Local fresh vegetables will be preferred as they will have a higher nutrient content. I will progress to solid vegetables as soon as I am cleansed and start to feel better. No processed foods of any kind will be part of my diet. It is also critical I take in the Essential Oils such as a quality Omega 3,6,9 product. Again my personal choice are the products made in Canada s as I feel they make a better product then I have found here in the states where every company seems to be more concerned about money and profit then quality of product. Plant sterols made without heat or solvents could prove very helpful. A product such as Immune Rx (by a company called Enerex) There is another brand but it is only 1/12 as powerful as that company. I would empty the capsules into my juice.

Once I feel my strength returning I will add fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, and legumes. I will not add any grains at this time or any animal protein or certainly not dairy. I will continue this program until my body has healed itself.

There are hundreds of people around the country that claim to have found 1 single item that is the cure for disease such as cancer. Don’t fall for all the self promoting gimmicks. Only your own body is capable of healing itself. You have to remove the toxins in it and give it the tools to work with: oxygen, water, nutrition, exercise, rest, and hope. The miracle is that the body knows what to do. We just give it to many challenges to overcome with our toxic world and our nutritionally dead foods.

Getting news of having cancer yourself or a loved one is a tramatic experience. The choices and decisions will be difficult. I have young children that I need to be here for to teach and guide. I can’t afford to become sick with disease. Not just cancer but any kind of disease. The best choice I can make will be to make healthy decisions on the foods I eat, the air I breathe, and the water I drink. I am not afraid to take responsibility for my own health and I plan on doing just that.

Water is a ubiquitous chemical substance that is composed of hydrogen and oxygen and is essential for all known forms of life.

In individuals of normal weight, water is abundant in most parts of the body, except in fat. The largest component of the body is water. Water makes up between 45 and 75% of body weight, with the variability due primarily to differences in body fat. Carrying too much body fat, you can easily become dehydrated because body fat does not hold water. While most tissues including muscle, skin, and visceral organs are over 70% water, fat contains less than 10% water. The percentage of body weight that is water therefore varies inversely with body fat. In the average lean adult male around 60% of the body weight is water. The remaining body weight consists of 16-18% fat with 22-24% protein, carbohydrate and other solids. In the female the percentage of body weight that is water is lower due to a relatively greater amount of subcutaneous fat.

Water and Your Body

The human body is anywhere from 45% to 75% water. To function properly the body requires between one and seven liters of water each day to avoid dehydration, the precise amount depends on your level of activity, temperature, humidity and other factors. We can get a substantial amount of the water we need from food, or beverages, other than drinking straight water, but most experts agree that we need at least 6-7 8oz glasses of water per day. Drinking coffee, tea and soda can dehydrate you because they are diuretics.

If the importance of a nutrient is judged by how long we can do without it, water ranks as the most important. A person can survive only seven to ten days without water, whereas it takes weeks or even months to die from a lack of food. Water circulates through our blood and lymphatic system, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells and removing wastes through urine and sweat. Water also maintains the natural balance between dissolved salts and water inside and outside of cells. Our joints and soft tissues depend on the cushioning that water provides for them. While water has no caloric value and therefore is not an energy source, without it in our diets we could not digest or absorb the foods we eat or eliminate the body’s digestive waste.

Hydrogen and Oxygen

Oxygen is essential to survival. It is relatively stable in the air, but when it gets into our bodies, it can become unstable and has a tendency to attach itself to to any biological molecule, including those of healthy cells. The chemical activity of these “free radicals” is due to one or more pairs of unpaired electrons.

Such free radicals have a high oxidation potential which means they are capable of stealing electrons from other cells. Inside the body these free radicals are very useful in disinfection because they attack bacteria, viruses and other waste products. Problems arise when the free radicals are turned loose in the body and they attack healthy cells. That is when you need antioxidants to control the free radicals.

The H- ion as an antioxidant

Life is a rather delicate balance of oxidative processes and reducing (antioxidant) processes, and almost all scientists and observers agree that most of the time, the balance in most organisms (including humans) is shifted too far in the oxidative direction in our modern era. This excess oxidative activity results in a surplus of oxygen free radicals (aka reactive oxygen species, or ROS), some of the most common of which are superoxides, peroxides, ozone, and triplet and quadruple oxygens. As a powerful reducing agent (an electron donor), H- is able to neutralize these radicals easily, often leaving only pure water or simple compounds as the “ash” or residue from the encounter. It acts as a scavenger in the bloodstream, hunting down the free radicals and capturing them.

The H-minus ion (or H- ion) also plays a critical role in all known life forms on earth. It acts as both an energy carrier (providing “energy currency”) and as an antioxidant in numerous biological systems. In its antioxidant role, this ion functions as a powerful primal, and primary antioxidant found in all raw, unprocessed foods (plant and animal) and in many “wild” unprocessed, untreated water sources in the biosphere (the area around the surface of the planet where life exists.) Some sources of water which contain the H-minus ion are glacial runoff water, high altitude lakes, wells and springs and some deep wells where the aquifer has been stable over millennia.

It appears that this tiny and lightweight ion was the original antioxidant for all life forms on earth, and is likely the single most optimal antioxidant for life forms even today. It is the only antioxidant that appears in forms other than vegetable or animal. H- is formed easily in water, ice or moisture laden air (water vapor) via exposure to ionizing radiation, an electrical discharge (plasma or spark), or an electrical current in water strong enough to produce electrolysis.

The H- ion has sometimes been labeled the “Paleolithic Antioxidant”, the “Neanderthal Antioxidant”, and the “primeval Antioxidant”. This article describes primarily the antioxidant properties of the primal antioxidant (aka the primeval antioxidant), the negative hydrogen ion (H- ion) — found in ionized (reduced) alkaline water (also called Electrolyzed Reduced Water or ERW).

Free Radicals and Heart Disease

Free radicals are among the most damaging molecules in the body and are highly unstable molecules that are oxidizing agents and are electron deficient. Remember how iron rusts? That is unchecked oxidation. They are a principal cause of damage and disease in the body. Oxygen free radicals contribute significantly to a broad variety of harmful conditions in the body ranging from life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, stroke and cancer, to less severe conditions such as sunburns, arthritis, cataracts, and many others. Free radicals MUST get electrons from somewhere and will steal them from whatever molecules are around, including normal, healthy tissues.

Damage to tissues results when free radicals strip these electrons from healthy cells. If the damage goes on unchecked, this will lead to disease. For example, the oxidation of LDL cholesterol particles in arterial walls by free radicals triggers an immune system response that results in atherosclerosis, the principal cause of heart disease. The H-ions in alkaline water from an electrolysis machine are a rich source of electrons that can be donated to these free radicals in the body, neutralizing them and stopping them from damaging healthy tissues. Specifically, these H-ions have the potential to engage in the chemical reactions necessary to neutralize oxygen free radicals.

The Need for the anti-oxidant alkaline water

Water is used everyday, in all capacities of our lives. In our continued effort to live healthier lives, many of us are becoming aware that consuming more water in necessary. Filtered or purified water is only cleaner water. But what our bodies truly need is healthier water. Alkaline water is healthy water. Why? It has been found that alkaline water is very high in the H- ion ione of the best antioxidants known to man. Alkaline water seeks out free radicals and converts them into necessary oxygen, which your body can use.

The electrolysis process not only gains an excess amount of electrons, but also reduces the molecule cluster in size from13-14, which is the size of ordinary tap water, to 5-7. Due to its smaller cluster size with lower molecular weight, antioxidant Alkaline Water is readily absorbed by the body system. It is able to better deliver nutrients to all the cells, tissues, and organs and accelerates metabolism with increased elimination of acidic wastes from the body.

Not only does drinking alkaline water aid in cleansing the body, but scientists have found that this water has a positive effect upon the health of patients suffering from severe illness such as digestion, blood pressure, diabetes and some cancers.

I. Introduction
American diet contain high in saturated fat, trans fat, and other harmful substances such as sugar, caffeine, pesticides, addictive substances, etc. and less in fruits and vegetables. These types of harmful substances is toxin. Our body detoxified functions try to get rid of them everyday, when they fails causing disruption of hormone production, damaging our body detoxification organs and weaken our immune system resulting in hormone imbalance and many chronic illness consequently.

II. Causes
A. Internal Causes
1. Overdose of red meat
Our animals are grown in a crowded environment and fed by growth hormones to perverse the maximum profits. No matter how restricted the government regulations are, these traces of growth hormone still remain in the animal body causing more harm than good. Although our body requires protein and fat to function daily, overdose of red meat causes cholesterol building up in the arteries, triglyceride in the bloodstream, and high blood pressure resulting in heart diseases and chronic illness.

2. Overdose sugar
Carbohydrates are essential to our liver and kidney function, overdose of sugar in American diet causes insulin resistance, damaging the pancreas, reducing the circulation of blood and causing hormone imbalance.

3. Excessive drinking
Our social life is a mess. We drink too much. Since alcohol is a stimulant, moderate drinking helps increase the circulation of blood and improve mental alertness. Excessive drinking reduces the brain’s function, damaging our liver, decreasing the function of the immune system and causing inflammation.

4. Artificial Agents
Artificial agents may help to perverse food and make it look good, but they are toxic to our body. These types of agents stimulate appetite by directly influencing the hunger centers of the brain causing you to eat more resulting in obesity.

5. Smoking
Smoking not only causes lung cancer, it also causes the depletion of oxygen levels in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of hardening, thickening and calcium attached in arterial wall as well as increasing the risk of heavy metals accumulating in our brain.

6. Consuming not enough fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are high in nutrients that are vital for daily function of our body. Vitamins C, E, K and chemical substances in fruits and vegetables such as alpha carotene, beta carotene, selenium, chlorophyll, and amino acid are powerful antioxidants that not only helps to increase body metabolism, it also helps in strengthening our immune system against fighting the forming of free radicals as well as protecting our body by fighting against inflammation caused by bacteria and virus.

B. External Causes
1. Air Pollution
The cause of air pollution are the result of burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, and gasoline to produce electricity and power our vehicles such as the emitting of carbon dioxide resulting in ozone pollution, acid rain, and toxic heavy metal pollution. Yes, this is the air we breath very day. Every breath we inhale, our body is required to detoxify all this harmful material entering our body. If you have a weakened immune system, some of these harmful can not be removed from our body resulting in heavy metal accumulation as well as disrupting the normal function of organs causing inflammation and infection.

2. Soil Pollution
Soil pollution are caused by misuse of the soil in poor agricultural practices, mineral exploitation, industrial waste dumping, and indiscriminate disposal of urban wastes. These kinds of wastes accumulating in our soil include herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals and man-made chemicals that will enter our body through raining, snowing and foods. If our body cannot get rid of them long term accumulation of these harmful substances will result in a weakened immune system and chronic diseases.

3. Water pollution
An estimated 90% of waste water are discharged directly into rivers and streams without treatment. There are as many causes of water pollution such as poorly designed landfills, road deicing salts, and hazardous waste sites resulting in heavy metals and harmful chemical substances entering the water that we drink everyday.

4. Indoor pollution
Indoor pollution such as gas heaters, gas appliances, wood burning fireplaces, leaking chimneys and furnaces, and tobacco smoke causes allergic reactions such as eye, nose and throat irritation, and weakening our immune system.

5. Toxins in Food
Certain foods are more toxic than others, such as french fries, BBQ chicken, and most fast foods which contain a high quantity of trans-fat that has been shown to be carcinogenic. Fruits and vegetables grow in the contaminated soils or herbicides are used on them, pesticides will absorb the contamination substances and have poor nutrition.

I have been studying natural remedies for disease prevention for over 20 years and working as a financial consultant since 1990

This article is based on a study about the Redox Potential as it corresponds to humans and all fish and animals. I have found from practical experience and research, that a lot more can be learned from medical studies than from the anecdotal writing of many aquarists. I have found this with medication recommendations too, as many times gram positive medications such as penicillin are recommended with no chance of curing their sick fish. Back to UV Sterilization; UV Sterilization is often trashed by un-informed aquarists who do not really know what UVs can and cannot do, and also the quality and proper installation of the unit also plays a roll in the UV Sterilizers effectiveness.

This pertains to the Redox potential of -300-350 mV that can aided by a properly installed UV Sterilizer along with the correct balance of electrolytes (which can in part be measured by GH). Often aquarium information is inaccurate or anecdotal as to the importance of trace elements/electrolytes in an aquarium or pond. This misinformation also spreads to UV Sterilizers and the lack of understanding of the Redox potential (even if this is not a parameter that needs regular testing, it is still essential.

Over geologic time abiogenic (not biological in origin), biogenic (produced by living organisms) and anthropogenic (processes are those that are derived from human activities, as opposed to effects or processes that occur in the natural environment without human influences) deposits were accumulated in rivers, lakes and seas. Simultaneously there proceeded the self-purification of natural water based on the chemical reactions of oxidation and reduction. Living organisms such as fish are adapted not to “perfectly clean water”, such as distillated water, but to ecologically clean water with definite content of organic and inorganic compounds, micro-admixtures, ions and even bacteria or even fungi. The range of mentioned components of ecologically clean water is the integral result of oxidation and reduction self-purification of water.

At the initial stages of this cycle toxic hydrophobic organic compounds (molecules that are repelled from a mass of water) are oxidized to the hydrophilic forms (a molecule or portion of a molecule is one that is typically charge-polarized and capable of hydrogen bonding, enabling it to dissolve more readily in water than in oil or other hydrophobic solvents), which are characterized by the better biological compatibility. Energy of oxidation of degrading organic compounds is absorbed during reduction chemical transformations. Excess of ions of the heavy elements transforms into insoluble, inert, nontoxic forms. Concentration of ions of light elements is stabilized. Just in such water live the water organisms, and land animals drink such water.

Spring waters, which are considered to be the most clean according to the ecological criteria, are filtered through the rocks and subjected to the oxidation and reduction, sorption and catalytic influence. As rule, they are mineralized and include non-volatile organic substances, which are detected by the permanganate oxidability (expressed by oxidability by potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate).

After electrochemical purification water keeps its initial neutral values of pH, but ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) of water shifts toward the negative (electrode or reduction) values. The resulting purified water obtains the antioxidant properties with characteristics of pharmacological activity close to the properties of the antioxidant preparations (a -tocopherol, b -carotene, vitamin C etc.). In case of dilution of polyvitamin preparations in electrochemically purified water ORP of mixtures is decreased approximately by 200 400 mV in relation to the control solutions with non-treated drinking water. This partially explains how a proper Redox Potential improves the health of the fish or other aquatic organisms as I have observed. Bringing this back to my observations of goldfish aquariums; All aquariums with the same filtration (canister filter with sponge filter), the same feeding schedule and food, even the same basic goldfish (a mix of ryukins and orandas); The aquariums with the quality, properly installed UV Sterilizers not only had less incidence of disease, but general health, appetite, vigor, growth, and water clarity were all improved.

One final note about the Redox Potential; Before it seems that you must rush out and buy a UV Sterilizer to maintain your Redox Potential, you can maintain your aquarium’s Redox Potential through proper water changes with ion balanced clean water, ozone generators, even tubes in the water column with water flowing against a column of air. I have just found that a UV Sterilizer is the simplest and most predictable way to do so.

Hot Tub Chemicals Maintenance.

Owning a hot tub doesn’t require a lot of hard work. A few simple routines will keep your water sparkling clean and your hot tub in excellent condition.

Your Filter.

Your filter should be removed and sprayed with a garden hose regularly. We recommend that you clean your spa’s
filter about once each month with a filter cleaning solution. Filter cleaning is important because dirt and debris
trapped in your spa’s filter can slow the flow of water and affect the performance of the spa. The process is simple:
place the filter into a bucket with filter cleaning solution and allow the dirt and particles to float into the water. After
soaking, the filter should be sprayed thoroughly again to remove any remaining dirt and cleaner fluid.
You may want to buy an additional filter to keep on hand. This way, you can allow your filter to soak, put the
replacement filter in and use your hot tub right away, additionally this will allow the original filter to dry and regain its ‘structure’; also it will lengthen the life of your filters.
We’re often asked ‘how long should a filter last’ – as is often the case this depends upon the amount of use of the spa. One thing, however, is certain and that is it will not last as long as your spa salesman first told you. Filters do not last a year, indeed, they may only last six months. Continuing after this and you will put unnecessary strain upon you circulation pump.

Your Acrylic Shell.

It’s a good rule of thumb to drain and clean your spa about once every three to four months. If you have an acrylic
shell, it’s simple to clean, and you can be assured that the non-porous surface won’t allow dirt, soapy film, or germs
to penetrate. Simply use a spa surface cleaner, and wipe the acrylic with a damp sponge or cloth. Never use an
abrasive cleaner or a product that contains bleach.

Your Vinyl Cover.

Because your cover is exposed to the elements, it’s a good idea to use a vinyl protector to extend its life and look.
Clean your cover and apply protector each time you clean your spa’s filter. Remember to use the cleaner only on
the top of the cover; you won’t want the cleaner to interfere with your water chemistry. To clean the under side,
clean with a very mild detergent, fully rinse with a garden hose and air-dry.

Clean Water.

Even if you have an ozonator, you’ll still need to use chemicals to kill bacteria and other germs that may be present
in your hot tub’s water. There are many options. Here is a basic list of chemical water treatments.

Mineral Based Purifiers: These purifiers use cartridges that are placed inside spa filters and replaced once every Chlorine Granules or Tablets: This is the most common and widely known water sanitizer. There are chlorine tablets and granules created specifically for spa use available at spa retailers. The up-side with chlorine is it is an instant fix, an immediate remedy, the down-side is                                                                   1) the smell and                                                                                                   2) the ph balance in your spa may vary considerably (bounce) Bromine Granules or Tablets: Bromine tablets are a combination of sodium bromide and chlorine. Many people
choose bromine over chlorine, because the smell is not as strong. The upside is 1) no smell                                                                                                            2) more stable ph balance. The down-side is that it take a day or two for a residue to build up in your spa, but you can still use the spa during this time. Aquafinnesse, Aquagarde or BaquaSpa: are patented water care solutions that allow users to enjoy their hot tubs without the harsh effects of chemicals. The upside is no chemicals, the downside is

1) can be expensive and

2) not suitable for heavy bathing loads, such as 4+ people every day.three to four months.

Recommended Hot Tub Care Maintenance Routine.

Daily :
Check sanitiser level & dose as required
Check pH level & dose as required
Clean water line with Waterline Cleaning Paste
Weekly:
Oxidise hot tub with Non Chlorine Shock or SpaGuard SpaLite.
Add No Foam to control foaming
If in area of high calcium hardness add Anti Scale to prevent scale deposits
Monthly:
Clean filter cartridge using Cartridge Cleaner or SpaGuard FilterBrite.
Periodically:
Due to the build up of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) the hot tub will need completely draining & refilling. There are no hard and fast rules as to when this should be done but the following formulation seems to work well in practise:

Hot tub litres divided by daily bathers divided by 12 = days between draining & refilling
Example : 1200 litres divided by 2 divided by 12 = 50 days.

Water Balance.

By balancing the water you are creating the right conditions for bather comfort, chemical efficiency & equipment
protection. A number of factors are involved in balancing the water but the main areas are : Calcium Hardness,
Total Alkalinity & pH

Calcium Hardness
This will vary depending on where you live and where your water supply comes from and it is very important that the
correct level is established. As a guide soft water tends to be low in Calcium Hardness and hard water more
obviously is high. The level should be checked each time you top-up or refill the hot tub with fresh water. The ideal
Calcium Hardness level for hot tubs is between 100 – 200mg/l.
When it is below this level the water could be corrosive which could lead to damage of plant equipment such as the
heater. If this is the case apply Hardness Increaser to achieve the correct level.
When it is above this level the water has a tendency to appear cloudy and also calcium can precipitate out and
deposit itself on the tub shell finish, heater element, cartridge element & within pipework. If this is the case apply No
Scale to achieve the correct level.
Total Alkalinity
TA acts as a buffer to prevent pH change and if the level is too low the pH will fluctuate widely, if too high pH
adjustment will be difficult to effect. The ideal Total Alkalinity for hottubs is between 125 – 150mg/l. When it is below
this level not only will pH fluctuate but the water could be corrosive, cause damage to equipment and be
uncomfortable to bathers. Use Total Alkalinity Increaser to raise levels.
When it is above this level not only is pH difficult to adjust but also the water could be scale forming and clarity
impaired. Use pH Minus to reduce levels.
pH Levels
Regular pH checks are an essential part of your tub maintenance routine using Test Strips.
The pH scale has a range of 0 – 14 with 0 being very acidic, 7 being neutral & 14 being very alkali. For tubs the ideal
range is between 7.4 – 7.6, this being slightly alkaline to protect the hot tub and prevent equipment corrosion. This
also provides the most comfortable conditions for bathers and good sanitiser efficiency.
If the level is below 7.4 use Soda Ash to raise the level.
If the level is above 7.6 use Dry Acid to reduce the level.
Sanitising
The sanitising of your hot tub water is necessary to kill bacteria and help in the prevention of algae growth. The level
should be checked regularly using Test Strips and can be in the form of Chlorine or Bromine
Bromine
This is an effective hot water sanitiser and ideally suited to hot tubs.
It is effective over a wide pH range and has little odour.
Comes in tablet form making it easy to apply and avoids having to dose everyday.
The ideal Bromine level is between 3 – 6mg/l.
Chlorine
This is available in granule form which are rapid dissolving and therefore a good sanitiser.
It has little effect on the pH levels.
The ideal Chlorine level is between 3 – 5mg/l.
Oxidising
It is necessary to oxidise your hot tub weekly using Non Chlorine Shock.
It destroys odours and wastes such as perspiration, cosmetics and body oils.
Restores sparkle.
Increases bather comfort.
Hot Tub Speciality Products.
Other products also help keep your hot tub clean, clear and enhance your bathing pleasure.
Control of Foam
The rapid circulation & aeration of hot tub water can cause unsightly foam to appear on the waters surface
especially when oils and lotions are within the water.
No Foam used regularly will prevent and control excess foaming.
If excessive foaming is a continuous problem drain the tub and refill with fresh water.
Ensuring Water Clarity.
Discolouration or cloudiness of the water is often caused by minute particles suspended in the hot tub water which
are too small for the filtration system to remove.
Soaps, cosmetics, body oils and greases can all cause dull, cloudy water.
Encourage hot tub users to shower before getting into the hot tub to minimise these problems.
Clarifier used once a week will assist in the removal of suspended matter via the filtration system thus restoring and
maintaining the water clarity.

Make sure that you follow the routine and your spa/hot tub will be as new all the time.
